This coming weekend, vocalist Laurin Talese will host a residency at SOUTH Jazz Parlor in Philadelphia, PA on Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th with shows at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The singer is eager to return to one of the city’s most revered jazz venues and will be joined by Toru Dodo (piano); Cedric Easton (drums); and Jonathan M. Michel (bass).
Talese has enjoyed an exceptionally busy first-half of the year, with shows in several states along the East Coast and more, including an appearance at the Art of the Cool Festival, in Durham, NC, and a host of debut concerts at venues in Georgia, Colorado, and Ohio. She also supported Alicia Keys and Maren Morris at this year’s Grammys telecast in Los Angles this past February by providing backing vocals.
Earlier this month, Talese was among the instructors at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts’ Showstoppers Camp, where she taught voice in preparation for their production of The Wiz. In 2018, she will be one of the select artists featured at the esteemed center’s performance series with a show scheduled for February 10, 2018.
