Jon Gordon Releases "Within Worlds" on Artistshare

Within Worlds, a recording of all original music, recorded by different groups of Jon Gordon's in recent years featuring; Ben Monder-guitar, Billy Drummond-drums, Kevin Hays-piano, Joe Martin-bass, Bill Stewart-drums, Bill Campbell-drums, Gary Versace-organ, and Mark Ferber-drums. Available exclusively at artistshare.com along with last years CD The Things You Are, live concert downloads, improvisation and composition lesson packages, and a special discounted package which includes all of Gordon's Artistshare content.

All packages contain Photo galleries, access to videos of various performances, journal entries, and interviews with musicians including Maria Schneider, Eddie Locke, Mark Turner, Phil Woods, Scott Robinson, Bill Charlap, Steve Wilson, Bill Stewart, Jim McNeely and others.

Jon Gordon's CD release will be celebrated at his performance at The Players Theater Arts Festival, upstairs in the Players Loft, Saturday Dec. 15th 9:00 at Macdougal st and Minetta Lane. This will be part of a festival that Jon put together which will also feature: highly accomplished pianist Eleonor Bindman at 7:00, A percussion ensemble led by Michael Sgouros at 8, Fire in July at 10, and The Alan Ferber Nonet at 11:00 that night. The following day, Sunday Dec 16th will include the following performances:

Dvorak and Piazzolla by the Siona Loughnane trio at 3, exceptional classical pianists Jazz violist Judith Insell at 4. Darren Motisse is playing at 5 Alto saxophonist Jaleel Shaw's group performs at 6, A Sciensonic Evening of music with Scott Robinson and Klauss Suonsari at 7 Jazz guitarist Mike Moreno's group performs at 8, The Kendrick Scott group plays at 9, and Positone recording artist Sean Nowell performs at 10. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Artists Sarah Fearon, Christian Ericson, Beth Bailis, Michael Poast, Brook Christopher, Martina Donahower, Alender Cox, Anki King, and Marcia Miller will be exhibiting their work over the course of the two day festival as well.

Jon will also be performing at La Lanterna/The Bar Next Door, Macdougal St bet 3rd and 4th, on Dec 21st, sets at 9 and 11:15.
