NEW YORK, October 21, 2004 - Jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis will perform at The Museum of Modern Art on December 7, 2004, at a benefit gala hosted by the Friends of Education, a Museum affiliate group devoted to encouraging greater appreciation of African American artists and the participation of African Americans at MoMA. The black-tie gala, consisting of a cocktail reception, a concert in the newly refurbished Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 1, dinner, and a private viewing of the Museum's galleries, will be the first benefit held in the newly renovated and expanded MoMA, which opens to the public on November 20.
The Benefit Chairman is Sherry B. Bronfman and the Honorary Chairmen for the event are Lewis B. Cullman, Agnes Gund and Daniel Shapiro, Alexandra and Paul Herzan, Wynn Kramarsky, Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder, Stuart Lewis and Cordia Beverley, Susan and Glenn D.
