It's a Hardbop Life, which debuted at the 2004 New York JVC Festival, will be presented at the New School University in October. It is an exciting musical play that features, for the first time, top musicians from the bands of Blakey, Ellington, and Basie as the principal actors. The play is a coming of age story about a young college athlete named Q. who, in a dream, takes a trip back to 1964 to debut a new" style of jazz called Hardbop.
