Besides being a jazz pianist, electrician, printer, now inventor Stuart H. Tresser has been hard at work trying to invent a substitute for amalgam fillings used by dentists presently which contains 50% mercury (a toxic metal). For over 150 years regular dental amalgam (the stuff fillings are made of)has found it's way into the mouths of millions of people! Toxic mercury fumes have contributed to cronic exposure to this poisonous metal, mercury. Using some simple basic chemistry, and knowledge of plastics, and other substances, Stuart H. Tresser has come up with a new epoxy type of product which will get as hard as steel in 5 minutes, set up under water, stick to drilled out areas where dental decay has been removed by the dentist, and be yet radio opaque! This problem or requirement of such a substance to be radio opaque basically means that when used as a filling it can be seen on a x-ray just like the older amalgam. A filling must be seen on an x-ray so the dentist can tell tooth material from filling matter should it have to be drilled out and re-filled. This product is presently under going tests, and Mr. Tresser is expected to apply for approval to bring this product into the dental world as a new filling material that has all of the properties of amalgam but is not toxic, holds up in mouth, and can be shaped, drilled, filed, used just as regular dental amalgam but without the mercury and toxic effects associated with the older dental amalgam. Mercury often acumulates in the brain, tissues, and is a cumulative poison which builds up and slowly poisons the body. By inventing a new substitute for dental amalgam--this will revolutionize dentistry, and make mercury vapor released by amalgam a thing of the past!
