Jazz pianist David Hazeltine will make a special appearance to perform and sign autographs at J&R Music and Computer World (23 Park Row) on Saturday, October 27 at 4 PM. WBGO Jazz 88.3FM will broadcast live from J&R beginning at 2pm, including the concert to be featured on Saturday Afternoon Jazz with Monifa Brown at 4:00pm.

David Hazeltine made his professional debut at the tender age of 13 in Milwaukee. Hazeltine would go on to serve as the house pianist at the famed Milwaukee Jazz Gallery, working with such greats as Charles McPherson, Eddie Harris, Sonny Stitt, Pepper Adams and Chet Baker. In fact, it was Baker who encouraged David to make his mark in New York City. Hazeltine moved to New York City in 1992, and among his more recent credits, he has worked with Freddie Hubbard, James Moody, the Faddis-Hampton-Heath Sextet, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, the Louis Hayes Quintet, and Marlena Shaw, for whom he serves as pianist, arranger, and musical director. David's debut CD as a leader was released in 1996 and entitled Four Flights Up. He received high praise from critics and musicians alike, and since then, has recorded five more CDs, the latest Manhattan Autumn featuring Eric Alexander.
