On Sunday, August 1st, drummer Rob Henderson will devote his weekly jam session to raise funds for Daphne Fifield, the wife of bassist and jazz filmmaker Jason Fifield. She has breast cancer and the money raised will go to help with medical expenses. The Daphne Fund will be established as a permanent fund for local women jazz and blues musicians who are in crisis due to gender-related illnesses. Show starts at 7-11 p.m. Donation $15. Plenty of free parking.

Musicians appearing at the session will include Orrin Evans, Mike Boone, Odean Pope, Trudy Pitts, and many more local jazz artists. The band Mischa Machez featuring Jason Fifield, David Dzubinski and Gerald Albrecht will also appear.
