Jazz at Lincoln Center will bring its 100 Years of Armstrong celebration to the entire country through its fifth appearance on the acclaimed PBS series Live From Lincoln Center, entitled “Armstrong - When the Saints Go Marching In," on December 13, 2000, at 8pm. During the concert - taking place in New York's Alice Tully Hall - the LCJO with Wynton Marsalis will perform numerous compositions from Armstrong's seminal Hot Five and Seven recordings, alongside other music associated with Satchmo.

The LCJO will be joined by the guest New Orleans musicians Bob Wilber (clarinet, soprano saxophone), Lucien Barbarin (trombone), and Don Vappie (banjo, guitar), as well as pianist Eric Lewis. In addition, the LCJO will be joined by a trio of teenage musicians - Troy “Trombone Shorty" Andrews of New Orleans, Louisiana, Brandon Lee of Houston, Texas, and Dominick Farinacci of Cleveland, Ohio - for one song, illustrating that the Armstrong legacy continues to influence young musicians in the 21st century.
