The Gig in Hollywood will be hosting a concert for the launch of Elizabeth Lulu Scholarship Foundation (ELSF) on July 30th at 8:00 p.m. The foundation is named after Elizabeth Lulu, the 13-year-old girl who passed away from complications of the disease but whose love for music and passion for life gave her the strength to face the disease with courage. The Foundation was formed to provide scholarships to deserving teens who suffer from cystic fibrosis.

Chamber Music America has selected Marlon Simon and his ensemble, The Nagual Spirits, as recipients of the “New Works: Creation and Presentation" grant--a competitive program in which the CMA commissions and presents new works in the jazz idiom, recognizing both established and emerging artists.

As part of the 35th International Trombone Festival (ITF) in Birmingham (England), festival organisers have been granted permission by Guinness World Records to try and form the largest trombone ensemble ever! The current record, which stands at 289, was set on 8th June 1997 in Broekhuizen, The Netherlands.
