Berklee Professor Phil Wilson Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Phil Wilson, world-renowned trombonist and Berklee College of Music professor for 45 years, recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Trombone Association (ITA) at the 2010 International Trombone Festival at the University of Texas, Austin. He was presented with the award by Don Lucas, president of the ITA and a Berklee alumnus who studied under Wilson. By Charles Suhor The last surviving founder of the New Orleans Jazz Club, Gilbert Erskine, died at age 81 in Malone, New York on December 5th last year, but his passing was unknown in New Orleans for almost nine months.
