Jazz Education Network to Hold First Conference Next May in St. Louis

The Jazz Education Network (JEN) has announced that the organization will hold its first-ever conference from May 20-22, 2010 at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL).JEN is a not-for-profit organization of music teachers, musicians, students and others formed in 2008 not long after the collapse of the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE). USC Thornton School of Music Receives Major Gifts on 125th Anniversary

As it celebrates its 125th anniversary this academic year, the USC Thornton School of Music said it has recently received some pretty significant birthday presents in the form of money and one very famous piano. Among the pecuniary donations is a $1.25-million gift from Ruth Ross, which the school said will be used to augment the Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld Scholarship for string students.
