This issue marks AllAboutJazz-New York’s 3rd Anniversary. It’s a rather awkward milestone; a 1st anniversary is congratulatory for making it at all; a 5th or 50th is much more substantial, allowing for thorough reflection. The new look is a hybrid design--part current layout, part future layout. Most of the content sections and objects are in the same location, though we've moved the Cover Story up and have set a fixed width on each page (as opposed to stretching it from one end of your screen to the other).

All About Jazz is introducing Jazzscientia --a pioneering series of scientific analyses of jazz-- under the direction of geneticist Nils Jacobson and chemist Michael Holman. As its Managing Editor, AAJ readers already know Jacobson. Holman, on the other hand, is a more recent contributor.
