A five minute video that tells the story of Joe Lovano's new Blue Note CD, Joyous Encounter, is now available on All About Jazz.

Produced and directed by Bret Primack, the “Joyous Encounter" documentary is the first in a series of videos to be highlighted on the new All About Jazz Video page.

The page is designed to introduce new releases and spotlight artists. Each month, a different video will be featured, along with an accompanying article, and a buy/listen link for the CD.

Primack, a veteran journalist who has been working on the web for the past ten years, starting with Jazz Central Station, began his creative life as a filmmaker after graduating from NYU Film School. “I worked in documentaries and commercials before I was seduced by Jazz writing," he explains. “With the advent of digital video, I have finally returned to my first love." Primack has just completed a video for Hendrik Meurken's upcoming Blue Toucan Records release “Amazon River," and is post-production for videos featuring Dave Liebman and Denny Zeitlin.

“Video on the web is exploding," Primack explains, “thanks to the shrinking cost of production, and the growing percentage of broadband connections. With nearly half a million unique visitors a month, the All About Jazz site is the perfect place to introduce our community to the power of video, both as a promotional tool, and as compelling content."
