These blogs have been in operation since September with a mission to help preserve our heritage in the Great American Songbook as the important core of our American vocabulary.
The blogs focus on the performers, composers and musicians who have made this unique heritage possible. Because of the wealth of subject material, lyrics have been given their own site, running alphabetically. It's here that one can find all the info we could gather on the songwriters and the lyrics.
The Great American Songbook blog relates to our collection of CDs (a lifetime's worth), starting with vocalists; so naturally we began with Sinatra and his Capitol recordings...moved on to Chris Connor and we're now in the middle of Tony Bennett with Ella and Lady Day and all the rest waiting in the wings.
