Israel-based Gogimon wants to change the way you search, with its new desktop app that combines results from all three major web-search engines—Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Live Search.

Since it's a locally installed program, the tool can learn your search habits and personalize results without requiring you to send your search history to the company's servers, as is necessary with Google. Gogimon can also automatically generate a My Yahoo-like personal portal based on your favorites and search history. A later version of the app, to be released in the first quarter of 2009 will allow users to create “search channels." With these, a user can set up an ongoing, always-updated search query.

“Gogimon's Search Channel is the first Internet search medium to advance the art of searching in over a decade", said Menachem Reinshmidt, chief executive of Gogimon. “This has been accomplished by engineering the search process around the individual user, allowing users to process search results, enabling them to receive the exact information they need without having to sift through millions of items they would typically get from using one of the top three search engines. This revolutionary search channel creates a search experience in-synch with user input, forever changing the way people search."
