Glenn Miller Orchestra
The official Glenn Miller Orchestra swing their way back into Barnstaple for a tea time performance at 5pm at the Queen's Theatre on Sunday 23rd November. Proving that it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing, the band have been going strong since 1988, and under the direction of Ray McVay have become the UK's foremost big band.

They continue to update their sound, adding their own spin to the classics, but they keep faithful to the Glenn Miller style and still feature the original stage set-up favoured by Glenn himself - the leader, five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, three rhythm and a male and female vocalist.

The orchestra will take the audience on a trip down memory lane with tunes such as American Patrol, Blue Moon, In The Mood, Mack The Knife, Summertime, Strike Up The Band, Come Fly With Me, and their signature piece Moonlight Serenade.

The orchestra welcome a very special guest to the stage in Barnstaple, the legendary singer Joan Regan who will perform many of her hits including May You Always.

Joan was one of the most popular British singers of the post war years having a string of hits to her name, appearing at the London Palladium, starring in her own TV series, and performing at many Royal Variety Galas as a favourite of the Royal Family.

The evening will also feature The Moonlight Serenaders with their fabulous vocal harmonies, the swinging jazz of The Uptown Hall Gang, and the vocal talents of Jan Messeder and Colin Anthony.
