If you read this blog regularly, you know that we're big believers in fan engagement; and let's face it, when it's done on a grand and public scale, it a has a multiplier effect. Obviously, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters agree.

The Foo Fighters made one fan's birthday dreams come true when they invited him up on stage during a concert to take a turn on the kit. According to Yahoo Music News, fan Anthony Bifolchi was at the band's recent Toronto show, holding up a sign that read, “It’s my birthday, can I play drums?” when Dave Grohl noticed and invited him on stage to play.

Not everything was smooth though. Bifolchi asked to play the song “Best of You,” but Grohl quickly shot that plan down, saying, “You ain’t playing that song, that’s the last song we’re going to play tonight, ding-dong."

Eventually the modified group settled on the band's hit “Big Me," which Grohl described as “the easiest one” and once they started Bifolchi acquitted himself admirably.

Bifolchi later wrote on his YouTube page that it was the “best experience ever" while Grohl said that the performance was “actually pretty good."  - via Celebrity Access
