Father Figures: Tuesday, September 8th, 9 PM, at Goodbye Blue Monday, 1087 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY, with Dave Treut's Detroit and Jeremy Udden's Ones and Zeros

The music can be described as a psychedelic jazz / rock hybrid, energized and honest. Though live, the performance is a flow from composed to improvised (accompanied by carousel slides from the 1950s), this first album is all improvisations. Father Figures recorded 5 hours of improvisations, over the course of 4 months onto a 4-track cassette recorder and a deteriorating 1/4" tape machine, then selected their favorite moments, tweaked and chopped and arranged the music into 18 pieces. The band is excited to have used the studio as instrumentally as the instruments themselves.

Other upcoming Father Figures shows:
September 16th at Monkey Town, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
October 6th at Bowery Poetry Club, Manhattan
November 6th at the Tea Lounge, Park Slope, Brooklyn
