Startup FanDistro hopes to bring affiliate marketing to indie musicians with a system that encourages fans to sell their favorite band's music and divides the funds via PayPal 60% to the artist, 20% to the fan (or blogger) and 20% to the company. That would leave artist income similar to selling on iTunes, but PayPal charges could significantly lower net payouts. Other companies have introduced similar offerings, but failed to gain traction.
