Tuesday, April 18th at 7:00 pm EST at www.greenleafmusic.com, trumpeter/composer Dave Douglas will conduct an online chat to discuss his new recording Meaning and Mystery, his new chamber piece Blue Latitudes, trumpet playing and anything else that comes up.

Dave Douglas Career Highlights From The Past 18 Months:

Released three albums on Greenleaf Music including the recent Meaning and Mystery (April 11 release). Both Mountain Passages and Keystone were called the “best recording of his career" by many journalists

Earned his second Grammy nomination (for Keystone)

Received a Guggenheim Fellowship

Expanded his Festival of New Trumpet Music into a very well respected and growing annual event

Did three U.S. and two European tours, all rather extensive

Wrote a full-blown, contemporary classical piece, Blue Latitudes, for 14 musicians (the U.K. Birmingham Contemporary Chamber Players), and 3 improvisors, which premiers in early April

Started his own label, Greenleaf Music, which has, along with other entities such as Artist Share, seriously redefined what a jazz label might look like in the future

Continued leading his annual workshops at the Banff Center
