"Chris Botti Live" Special on PBS March 2006

Contemporary jazz trumpeter and composer Chris Botti stars in his first PBS special, CHRIS BOTTI LIVE, airing on PBS as part of the March 2006 pledge drive - Tuesday, March 14, 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET (check local listings). An all-star line-up of guests joins him for this magical evening.

The concert special features Botti performing with seven guest vocalists: Sting, Jill Scott, Paula Cole, Burt Bacharach, Renee Olstead, Paul Buchanan and Gladys Knight. Botti and friends are backed by a 35-piece orchestra and Botti's renowned five-piece band as he performs, among other selections, an instrumental version of the jazz standard “Someone to Watch Over Me" and music from the film Cinema Paradiso.

Sting performs “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life" and “My Funny Valentine," Jill Scott sings “Good Morning Heartache," while Burt Bacharach and Paula Cole team up in “The Look of Love." Jazz vocalist Renee Olstead performs “Pennies From Heaven," Paul Buchanan (from the group Blue Nile) sings “Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and Gladys Knight delivers “Lover Man."

CHRIS BOTTI LIVE: WITH ORCHESTRA AND SPECIAL GUESTS was recorded at the Temple of the Air (also known as the Wilshire Theatre) in Los Angeles, California, on December 2, 2005.
