More about Bridgewater: A music reviewer at the Village Voice says Dee Dee Bridgewater is the only baby-boomer jazz singer who's ready to join the pantheon." But not only has she won Grammies and other awards for many of her jazz albums, she also won a Tony award (for her Glinda in The Wiz), and was nominated for a Laurence Olivier award (for her role in Lady Day"). Dee Dee Bridgewater also hosts JazzSet," a National Public Radio program that makes live jazz available to listeners nationwide. And, she's a hunger-fighting ambassador for the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization. We'll find out why Bridgewater does all these things, her insights on excellence and expressiveness in different art forms, and what makes her tick.
Hope to see on-line, Benson Gardner Internet Chat Coordinator, portalwisconsin.org
