Boos and Barbs for Billy Bob Thornton

The civility and hospitality that Canada is known for were in short supply at a Thursday night concert in Toronto by Billy Bob Thornton and his band, the Boxmasters, The Toronto Star reported.

The performance came one day after Mr. Thornton gave a cantankerous interview to CBC, the Canadian public radio network, in which he frequently responded to the questions of his interviewer, Jian Ghomeshi, with silence or non sequiturs.

Asked what music he listened to when he was young, Mr. Thornton replied with an answer about the magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland.

Appearing Thursday night at Massey Hall, Mr. Thornton was greeted with boos and taunts. He told the audience he was displeased that Mr. Ghomeshi had ignored a request not to discuss Mr. Thorntons film career in the interview.

If you look someone in the eyes and promise them something, and you dont do it, you dont get the interview.
