Billie Holiday: At Monterey/1958 CD Release

This year Black-Hawk Records, Inc. is very excited to announce the inaugural CD release of Billie Holiday Live at Monterey 1958. This is more than a great recording. The fact that it lay undiscovered for 20 years, took place at the most prestigious Jazz Festival on the West Coast, and is among just five of Holiday's live concert recordings, makes Billie Holiday Live at Monterey 1958 a rare jewel among the archives.

On September 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., at Wave Street Studios, 774 Wave Street, Monterey, CA 93940, there will be a CD release party featuring live music and catering. Black-Hawk Records, Inc. would like to extend an invitation to all Billie Holiday and Jazz fans alike. This will be a great opportunity to see what Black-Hawk Records, Inc. has in store for the future. Just a week later, Monterey will be hosting the 50th Anniversary of the Monterey Jazz Festival on September 21-23, 2007.

Rhett Smith and the other people working at Monterey's Wave Street Studios project have pulled off a miraculous transformation of a historic property into a state-of-the-art performance facility. Just step foot onto the property and one will feel the history and magic.
