Edwards, a longtime performer at Minton's Playhouse, will be appearing with the rising star saxophonist Alex Violette for the first time. Violette recently completely a successful tenure at Minton's by performing with his group on Monday nights in August. His hard-driving saxophone playing both honors and updates the bebop tradition that was invented at Minton's during the 1940s.
