Atlanta based Jazz Society organizes Jazz Legends Benefit for Red Cross Relief Fund
The Atlanta International Jazz Society is organizing a Jazz Legends Benefit for the Red Cross Relief Fund and to honor Jazz Legends who have given a lifetime of advancing the artform,Jazz. The event is slated for November 18th ,6pm at EarthLink Live ,a state of the arts concert venue in midtown Atlanta. We have invited out the best in the field of Jazz to participate with us, said Robert Carmack, Presidenbt and Founder of the International Jazz organization. we are talking about premier artists like Shirley Horn & Trio, Tommy Flanagan Trio,Marian McPartland ,Barry Harris, Richie Coles, NY vocalist Allan Harris,and special invited guest and Humanitarian awardee Mr. Ray Charles". Other Jazz artists are calling in everyday to help the Jazz community make a strong statement that, they are Americans as well, and can contribute too" The Atlanta site was chosen because,of its warm climate,accessibility and great hospitality in the city.
The Red Cross is doing a tremendous job of helping victim's and the families of victims as they try to move on with their lives without fear of basic survival neccessities, added, Melanie Williams, West Coast Director & Talent Coordinator.
