Westchester, NY -- All In, the debut CD of the Westchester Jazz Orchestra, has been among the top-played discs on jazz radio across the nation since January. With this week's JazzWeek chart, WJO hits an impressive number 4 in national spins.
Of course we were thrilled when All In started charting a few months ago," says WJO's executive director, Emily Tabin. To have it reach number 4 is extraordinary and speaks very well of the music the Orchestra creates."
Most jazz fans can only listen to WJO by buying the Orchestra's CD or turning on the radio. Those in and around Westchester County, however, will have the opportunity to hear this sixteen-piece world-class ensemble live in concert on April 12 in Irvington and June 7 in Chappaqua. The April 12 concert will feature the music of the Gershwins and Paul Simon, with Kate McGarry as a guest vocalist.
On June 7, WJO concludes its fifth season with the songs of Brazilian master Antonio Carlos Jobim. WJO's concerts are partially funded by the New York State Council on the Arts and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
Reserved seating tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and only $5 for students. Call WJO at 914-861-9100 or order online our website.
