“Our goal has always been to support the music, the musicians, and grow the audience," says Michael Ricci, All About Jazz's founder. “We're also leveraging AAJ's technology and reach to support the Jazz Forward Coalition."
Proposed projects include three free mobile apps, a more expansive and robust events calendar, a jazz calendar aggregation and syndication system, a jazz-story-of-the-week podcast, a new video section, a reader's poll, and a greater commitment to connecting fans with musicians and events worldwide. AAJ will also invest in its technology to improve its infrastructure to meet increases in capacity and to improve its security.
Ricci continues, “I feel our most important contributions to the music are still ahead of us, but we'll need the support of our readers to make it happen. We're looking for a modest contribution from our regular readers to reach our $50,000 goal."
