For nearly three decades, All About Jazz has served as one of the world’s leading platforms for jazz journalism, connecting millions of readers with the music, the artists, and the stories that define the genre. Today, All About Jazz announces the launch of All About Jazz Media, an evolution of its mission—designed to not only tell those stories, but to support the people behind them in more direct, sustainable ways.
All About Jazz Media is a global content and funding ecosystem built around original programming—video, radio, podcasts, and documentary features—distributed through All About Jazz’s established global reach. At its core is a transparent, circular model in which audience engagement helps drive revenue that is reinvested into artists, educators, and the broader creative community, creating a continuous cycle of production, distribution, and support.
“This is a natural evolution for All About Jazz,” said Michael Ricci, Founder and Publisher of All About Jazz. “For years, we’ve told the stories of this music and the people who create it. With All About Jazz Media, we’re expanding how those stories are told—through new formats, new voices, and more creative approaches—while building a platform that helps sustain the artists behind them.”
Developed in partnership with John March (Creative Director & Head of Production), All About Jazz Media introduces a collaborative economic model designed to address long-standing imbalances in the digital music landscape. By aligning content creation with audience participation, the platform creates a system where value circulates within the community rather than being extracted from it.
“Artists have long carried the creative risk while receiving only a fraction of the economic return,” said March. “What we’re building is a structure grounded in equity and participation—a circular model where success is shared, where revenue flows back to creators, and where the act of engaging with the music directly contributes to its sustainability.”
As All About Jazz Media launches, it represents both a continuation of a 30-year legacy and a forward-looking commitment to innovation—bringing together storytelling, technology, and community to support improvisational music in a rapidly changing cultural landscape.
All About Jazz Media will be introduced to the international community at this year’s jazzahead! in Bremen, Germany (April 22–24). Attendees are invited to visit Stand #6A41 in Hall 6 to meet John March and learn more about the platform and its collaborative opportunities.
