Orders are now being taken for the 2009 Jazz Bridge Calendar, a beautiful calendar on thick, glossy paper that features jazz and blues musicians from the Greater Philadelphia Metro area, past and present, in classic photographs by some of the world's best photographers. Congratulations to the wonderful artists featured this year: Frank Bey, Bobby Durham, Nina Bundy, John Swana, Rufus Harley, Archie Shepp, Monnette Sudler, Michael Pedicin, Jr., Steve Beskrone, Craig McIver, Sumi Tonooka, Randy Brecker, and Charlie Ventura.

Because of the economic crisis, Jazz Bridge is offering each calendar for $20 plus shipping and handling between now and and Dec. 5th. Limit of five calendars per customer. But after Dec. 5th, the price will go up to $25. Jazz writer and critic Nat Hentoff called the Jazz Bridge calendars “a collector's item" in his column in this month's JazzTimes magazine. All proceeds go to our local jazz and blues musicians in crisis. This calendar is best one yet, and they'll make really classy holiday gifts for people on a budget.

Generous sponsors of the calendar were all the great folks who signed up to be one of the “Friends of Jazz Bridge" and companies such as Morningstar Recording Studios, Discmakers, the town of Collingswood, the Somers Point Jazz Society, and Dreambox Media.

All the best and happy holidays!
