Vladimir Goloukhov

Vibraphone and percussion player and composer, Vladimir is a graduate of Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in 1992.

For a number of years he was a member of Mark Pekarsky Percussion Ensemble. In 1985 Vladimir joined Ravi Shankar for a concert at Moscow’s Kremlin Palace. In 1990 Vladimir was invited to join The Contemporary Music Ensemble under the patronage of Edison Denisov. During the six years of its existence the Ensemble gained worldwide recognition, toured half of the globe and released dozens of albums. In 1991, following a personal introduction, Vladimir began his musical collaboration with Edison Denisov himself. Denisov’s Concert for Vibraphone, Flute and Piano was given its first performance in 1993 with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rudolf Baumgartner.

In parallel, he also explored rock styles. Vladimir has played with Garik Sukachev’s Brigada S and The Untouchables, recorded with Splin for their first album, as well as with Chaif and Bravo. His collaborations have included Alex Rostotsky Band, Alexey Kozlov’s Arsenal, Mark de Clive, Vanessa Freeman, Sergey Letov and Yuri Golubev.

He was the first Russian musician to have played MALLET KAT.

In 2011 Vladimir formed his own band Pervoe Solnce.

In 2014 he released an album with German pianist Patrick Bebelaar on МРS Records, Germany.

Vladimir also writes music for TV, movies and theatre.
