Tom Fallat

Tom Fallat has created, directed and performed in numerous full length evening performances including Five Dances, Summer of Barking, Danses Sacree et Profane, and Gita Govinda. He performed regularly and toured nationally with Gamelan Pacifica, a Javanese style orchestra, for eight years. He has written music for various performing groups including Gamelan Pacifica, The New Performance Group, Alpha Tango, the Salieri String Quartet, Wunkyard Flower and the New World Apes. He has been writing music specifically for dance performances for about twenty-five years, and has written scores for films and commercials. Other positions he has held include recording engineer and producer, station manager of Radio Station WXPN and assistant stage manager at Cornish College. Tom received Seattle Arts Commission Individual Artist Awards for music composition in 1987, 1992 and 1994 and support from the Washington State Arts Commission in 1998 and Artist Trust in 2001. He has been selected repeatedly to present work at On The Board's Northwest New Works, Bumbershoot, and the ArtsEdge festivals. He has been repeatedly invited to participate in Baltoscandal, an arts festival in Estonia.
