Contemporary ‘tango music’ trio. Formed in late 2006, Tango en Tres introduces their repertoire, consisting in original work as well as in pieces by avant-garde composers such as Eduardo Rovira y Horacio Salgan. Trough the band’s musical and instrumental arrangements, Tango en Tres creates a new aesthetic with a contemporary, personal style, using the gender’s roots as the starting point but always aiming for a XXI century sound. Without losing it’s essence, Tango en Tres accomplishes a fresh sound, full of shades and dynamics; with an harmonic vocabulary that goes from tonality to post tonality, a confident control of irregular rhythm and the use of jazz improvisation, they secure a product that stands for it originality in the gender. Tango en Tres, is setting the course and it has become a reference in the definition of ¨new tango¨

I find this a positive experience, you can see the influence of Berklee and the school’s way to perform music. I am always for any
fusion of jazz and tango, plus I think they are good at it. I consider it a good thing to put a little tango to the way one plays jazz, to
improvise on a more tango-ish language, brings something extra to the concept of improvisation. A truly great experience.
Ignacio Varchausky (Contrabassist in El Arranque)
I’ve been listening to some of the Myspace material, excellent repertoire and very original versions.
Leonardo Suarez Paz (Violin player)
Julián, I congratulate all of you first of all, but i take special consideration on your work, for which I heard you have the responsibility
when it comes to melody, harmony y rhythm from the guitar, a virtuous job.

A surprising discovery. Tango en Tres came from Argentina and faced tango music with original work and avant-garde referents like
Rovira and Salgán.
A very different and pleasant way to engage the old gender, a gasp of fresh air, melting it with new genders to obtain an excellent
result.
‘Tango en negro’, the last piece of their performance, an original one, goes back to the African origins of rhythm that show a resemblance
that the trio doesn’t hesitates to take advantage of.
