Naomi Gee Wright

British cellist/composer, Naomi Gee Wright, is the founder and leader of the Naomi Gee Wright Band. Her new album, Meteor Trail, is released on Oti-O Records. As a cellist and composer, she is known for creating atmospheric, emotionally charged music, and Meteor Trail reflects her ability to merge the richness of the  instrumental sounds of cello, tabla and voice, finely balanced with her composition and improvisation featuring vocalist Brigitte Beraha and Tabla player Ben Hazleton.

The project showcases Naomi's distinctive voice as an artist and features her compositions that are often expansive, and can evoke powerful emotions and imagery.

Her music is influenced by Indian classical, sufi music, Joni Mitchell, Terrence Blanchard, Ry Cooder, JS Bach, the paintings of Frida Khalo among others.
