Nathan Bellott

Nathan Bellott is fast becoming recognized on the jazz scene in Reading, PA. His instrumental capabilites include: alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone, piano, flute, and vocals. Currently, he studies with Erich Cawalla, a professional musician of the greater Reading area. Erich is the leader of the local band: The Uptown Band. Previously Nathan had studied with local musician Bill Bower. Nathan attends Governor Mifflin HS in Shillington, PA where he is an avid member of the jazz, concert, and marching band programs, in addition to select singing ensenbles. In 2007, As a member of the Governor Mifflin Statesmen Jazz Ensemble, he performed in Walt Disney World. This past summer Nathan attended the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts, where he had the opportunity to learn and perform with the best highschool musicians in PA. He was one of 5 saxophonists chosen from the state to attend. Nathan was also afforded the opportunity to study and perform with a professional faculty including Norman David (UArts, Temple), George W. Russell Jr. (Berklee), George Burton, Lars Halle (UArts), Andrew Urbina (NEC), and Ryan Socrates (percussionist, recording engineer). So far in his short career, Nathan has played lead alto in the 2007 Berks County HS All Star Big Band, where they opened for Gordon Goodwins Big Phat Band during the Berks Jazz Festival. Also, the band played at Gerald Veasley's Jazz Base in Reading. He has shared the stage with some of the worlds best jazz musicians including Chris Vadala, Eric Marienthal, Gordon Goodwin, and Wayne Bergeron Nathan is currently looking to get out and play and gig more. He is musically versatile, and can play a wide variety of genres. Also! He would love to take on a few beginning students!
