Young Gu Kim

Young Gu Kim is a guitarist and composer from South Korea.

He studied music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Purchase College, and the City College of New York, and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and master’s degree from the City College of New York.

His teachers include John Abercrombie, John Patitucci, Steve Cardenas, Ben Monder, Jesse van Ruller, and Connie Crothers.

He has been involved in various musical projects and performed in Seoul, Oslo, Porto, Amsterdam, and New York.

He led his own quartet consisting of young talented musicians from New York City, and released his debut recording “Small Community” in 2014.
