Soner Ersen

Soner Ersen is a London-based jazz pianist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of international experience. He has made significant contributions to numerous projects in roles such as pianist, keyboardist, composer, and educator.

Soner Ersen earned a BA Honours in Jazz and a PGCE in Music from Middlesex University. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of studying under renowned jazz performers and educators in the UK, including Chris Batchelor, Rob Townsend, Nikki Iles, Garrett Williams, and Steve Rose. Furthermore, he has had the honor of performing alongside esteemed British jazz musicians such as Jim Mullen, Mark Mondesir, Clark Tracy, Mark Lockheart, Tony Kofi, Nigel Price, and Benet Mclean.

Recently, Soner Ersen has transitioned his teaching to an online format and actively participates in recording projects from his home studio. He has collaborated with Cypriot fusion guitarist Okan Ersan, resulting in the release of a single in 2021. For this project, he worked alongside Steve Rose, Ralph Salmins, and Pat Levett from the UK. Currently, he is in the process of creating his debut jazz album as the Soner Ersen Quintet and organising jazz jam sessions at County Arms upstairs in Highams Park, featuring some of the UK's leading jazz artists.
