Dan Neville

Dan Neville is proud to be the arranger / producer on the recently released Xiomara Torres: La Voz Del Mar (Patois Records) an album shining light on and spanning the bridge between Colombia's Pacific Coast and the US.

Cali, Colombia's DJ El Chino describes the album as “Sabroso, Cadencioso y Perfecto” (Tasty, Cadential and Perfect). Tor Hammerø from Norway describes La Voz Del Mar as “an introduction to this musical landscape (Pacific Coast Colombian music), with the brilliant vocalist Xiomara Torres at the center, who makes life smile as often as music from these valleys leads to.”

Dan Neville is an award winning vibraphonist, composer, performer, and jazz big band arranger, currently based part time in NYC and part time between SF Bay Area and Cali Colombia.

Dan has recorded with a diverse range of artists in the SF Bay Area and beyond. In 2016, Dan was featured on Miriam Speyer’s Now is the Time. Later that year, he recorded with the Kora player Zena Carlota for her album The Confidence of Birds. In 2018, Dan recorded with Noa Levy on her album Take 2. He recorded with Vibrasón on their 2020 debut album Llegó Vibrasón (the song “Freeway”.)

Dan has spearheaded two successful crowdfunding campaigns enabling to record his own projects. His first was a kickstarter in 2017 for the release of his debut album Tenerife featuring an all-star ensemble (including John Santos and Anthony Blea) and all original compositions. Shortly afterwards, Dan was featured on “Sazonando”, a radio show in Guantanamo, Cuba with his album Tenerife.

His most recent campaign, Cali to Cali: Building a recording studio in Cali, Colombia (2019), enabled him to purchase recording equipment and travel to Cali where he helped record various ensembles with the legendary Diego Obregón. While in Colombia, Dan wrote and recorded original compositions and arrangements for Colombian artists.
