Steve Thompson

Steve Thompson is one of the real double bass mainstays on the South Coast, playing in countless settings in many different styles with multiple bands within the jazz idiom. Over the years he has performed with an amazingly diverse range of musical talents; from Kenny Davern to Joe Locke, Tina May to Martin Drew, Scott Hamilton to Gareth Williams. Amongst his current touring projects are The Jonathan Vinten Trio and The Paul Richards Trio, both bands busy working up and down the country in jazz clubs and festivals. Steve (alongside Mark Edwards and Piers Clarke) is also in the house rhythm section at Smalls Jazz Club at The Verdict in Brighton, one of the premier mainstream clubs in Britain.
