Dan Hanrahan
Born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, DC, Dan began playing the guitar at the age of 11. After several years of playing hard rock and blues, Dan developed a passion for jazz. In 2005, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University, where he studied jazz guitar with Craig Ebner and Tom Giacabetti. In addition, Dan has studied classical guitar with William Newman. While a student at Temple, Dan had the opportunity to perform with jazz greats such as Benny Golson and George Garzone.
Since graduating, Dan has gone on to perform at venues such as Chris' Jazz Cafe, Twins Jazz, The Deer Head Inn, and the COTA Festival. Aside from his own trio, he plays regularly with several groups including Najwa Parkins and the After Hours Trio and the Philadephia folk/rock band The People.
