Jason Davis is a 35 year old seasoned, musician, saxophonist, composer, educator, sound designer and music producer from Dallas, Texas with over 20 years of professional and public performance experience. He began performing classical clarinet solos around town at age 8. Jason feel in love with the tone of the saxophone and quickly switched over to tenor sax. The teachers that help nurture his natural talent are Rev. Sly Wallace, Dean Hill and Norman Fisher. Jason Davis leads his own jazz quintet They've appeared in shows with Roy Ayers, David "fat head" Newman, Roy Hargrove, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and a special performance for the Mexican Consulate General. As a studio artist he has recorded with the groups Pieces of a Dream, The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Tommy Young West, Page 43, The DFW Art Ensemble, Redd Young, Charles Collins and several other self produced jazz compilations. The Dallas Morning News featured Jason Davis in an article spotlighting the growing Dallas Jazz Scene and the conversion based art-form that Davis created called Huesic. His sideman experience includes Sandra Kaye, Jeannette Brantley, Emily King, The East Texas All-stars, The Impressions (Curtis Mayfield's Band), Cuba Godding Sr., Dwele, Onzy Matthews Big Band, Laney Mc Donald, Paul Salos Big Band, Inner City All-stars Brass Band, Robert Sanders Big Band, Roger Boykin, George Florence, Camp Wisdom, Lucky Peterson, Norah Jones, Claude Johnson, Flipside and Dolphin Cruises Lines. Residencies, community service, former clients and educational performances include Susan G. Komen Relay for Life, DIFFA Dallas benefit at the Crescent Hotel, Maynard Jackson Elementary, Elisha M. Pease Learning Center, Yvonne Ewell Townview Center, Clean South Dallas House, Lincoln High School, The Black Forest Theatre, Upward Bounds, The MAC, Mountain View College, Science Place, Jazz Artist in Residence at the South Side on Lamar Lofts, The Girl Scouts of America, Phi Delta Kappa, Dallas Museum of Art, Sambuca Jazz Cafes, A Taste of Dallas Festival, Strictly Tabu, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas, Texas College, Black Academy of Arts and Letters Jazz Legends with Marcel Ivery and Shelly Carroll and many more. Jason has written two Jazz Improvisation books, one musical and is working on starting a music library in the South Dallas Area. He is known as the father of Husic, the founder of the Flip Flop Movement. He is Co Producer of the Jam Box Project along with vocalist Mahogany.
