Odd Man In
Playing and recording with talented performers such as Lonnie Williams, Jay Thomas, Norm Bellas, Seattle Women in Rhythm & Blues, Jay Roberts, the Drifters and numerous others, Steve Nowak brings a seasoned talent to Odd Man In.
Bob Rothstein is the bassist for Odd Man In. Having spent several decades as a guitarist, Bob has extensive experience playing, writing and recording in the Jazz, folk, and blues idioms. Over the past decade he has also performed as bassist with a number of other Jazz ensembles in Seattle. Studying with one of the earliest recognized composers and performers in the World music genre, revered oud player and drummer, Hamza El Din, Bob's musicality provides Odd Man In with a foundation from a diverse ethnomusicological perspective.
Rothstein says, "The chemistry of Odd Man In easily lends itself to crafting a creative goldmine of Jazz, Latin and Blues tunes. Making music with Odd Man In is an absolute joy."
Geoff Wilke has long been recognized as a skilled musician and teacher of the guitar, string bass, and the mandolin. A Chicago native, Geoff has performed for many years as a freelance musician as well as with the theater orchestras of musical comedy at the Paramount, 5th Avenue Theater, and with the Seattle Symphony, Pacific NW Ballet, and Seattle Opera.
A world traveler, Geoff has also taught and played with fine musicians in Mexico, Europe and Cuba. His latest venture, playing standards and Jazz literature on the mandolin with Odd Man In offers a wonderfully rich, acoustic sound rarely heard in the Pacific Northwest.
Odd Man In has performed in private and public functions since 2001.
