Maximilian Hering
German drummer and composer Maximilian Hering has built a reputation as a versatile musician, with a rich catalogue as a sideman, collaborations across Europe, and music for film and interdisciplinary projects. His own ensembles, however, allow him to explore a more personal musical vision.
His inventive musical approach has already led to two albums, Nostalgia and Butter Bei Die Fische, along with the EP Max Hering & the Foaming Waves. With the Engel Trio, he also released the EP Live.
His upcoming album The Gathering is scheduled for January 23, 2026 and features an extraordinary quintet consisting of Fernando Brox, Edu Cabello, Victor Carrascosa and David Muñoz.
The follow-up to Nostalgia presents the band in a more versatile and mature state. The cherry on top of this remarkable ensemble is guest pianist Lucia Fumero, whose Latin-influenced touch brings vibrant new colors to the group’s sound and completes Hering’s vision for The Gathering.
