Muse Stew
Muse Stew began in the early 1990's as a collaboration between words and music in a series of performances at coffee houses and at the Book Cellar Cafe in Cambridge. The name of our group reflects the mixture of poetry, jazz and percussion we initially cooked up. Over the past 15 years our focus has changed more towards original compositions, but we've maintained the diverse elements including our mixture of jazz, poetry and percussion to create a unique musical expression. The current members of the group are:
Scott Samenfeld - Bass, Guitar, Percussion, Composer Susanna Fiore - Piano, Percussion Karen Gruber - Violin,Congas, Djembe, Percussion Caryn Sandrew - Vocals (for vocal gigs only)
You can listen to our music at our website: www.musestew.com - There are MP3s from both of our CDs.

Credentials/Background
I've been playing Guitar and Bass professionally for over 40 years. I taught at the Guitar Workshop on Boyleston St., Boston back in the 80s and at the Cambridge School in Weston. I've taught music privately since the 70s. My approach is informed by the Lydian Chromatic method of George Russel and by my guitar teach Harry Lahey to whom I owe a great deal. Harry studied with Dennis Sandoli and was a well known Jazz educator in New Jersey/New York area until his death.
