Zita Foster
When she was thirteen years old, she won her hometown’s Folk Song Competition. She majored in Theatre and sang in alternative rock bands in High School. After High School, she performed leading roles in musicals. During and after college she sang at various resort hotels and restaurants. There she sang the variety of song styles that she loves to enthusiastic audiences.
Zita graduated from Teacher’s Training College in Hungary and from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte receiving degrees in Education (specializing in Music Education), Music, and Psychology. She studied voice with Jane Dillard, and jazz vocal styling and technique with John Valerio. She is currently collaborating with John Valerio on an album of contemporary arrangements of Hungarian folk songs for publication and a CD recording. Also in the works is the release of her first jazz CD album with ViVadagio Records in 2009.

Zita graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Music (having studied voice with Jane Dillard) from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. She also has an honors degree in elementary education. She is available by appoinment, with special arrangements needed for weekends. Zita teaches music theory and beginning voice and ear-training. Reasonable rates of $15 for a half-hour lesson, $25 for an hour lesson, or a bundle of 10 lessons (5 hours) for $110
