Maxi Wood

Ms. Maxi's voice has been described as "powerful yet elegant". She has been singing since the age of two. Formally trained in classical music during her high school and early college years, she continues to grow and shine musically. Ms. Maxi's vocals can be heard on the studio albums "Mythology" by Blue Note recording artist Patricia Barber as well as her own independent debut album "Soulful Integrity". Her songs "Steppin' Out" and "2 Years" are highlights of this album, receiving rave reviews and landing her a spot on the British based compilation album "Soul Unsigned: Volume 2".

A few of her live performances include an opening concert for Celine Dion in Tampa Bay, Fl, guest showcasing on the Christian Television Network show "The Gospel Voice" and Chicago's CBS Network Show "Different Drummers". She also had the honor of performing the National Anthem for a Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Game. Over the past 10 years, Maxi served as musical director and worship leader for Open Door Church, a non-denominational church in Clearwater, FL.

Ms. Maxi loves singing for the Lord. She finds purpose and peace in helping others to welcome in the Holy Spirit via song. She also looks forward to beginning work on her sophomore album. Sure to be a smooth jazz masterpiece!

A must buy! Top drawer collection of songs, 2 Years and Steppin Out are the highlights for me and not a filler in sight. Excellent album! Paul Goldsmith

Highlights on this CD are Stepping Out, a very polished and classy track handled with the vocal finesse of Maxi. It has all the right ingredients, and is a gentle track that does not try too hard. Soul Tracks
