Lori Rose Adorno

Lori Rose Adorno is a highly acclaimed, Bronx-born vocalist, songwriter, and producer whose musical career spans over five decades. She is best known for her soulful vocal stylings and as half of the dynamic, husband-and-wife production team alongside legendary drummer Steve Adorno. Together, they have been a powerful force in New York City's vibrant music scene, leaving their mark on a wide variety of genres including R&B, Latin rock, dance, and Brazilian Urban Bossa.

Early Beginnings & The Disco Era

Lori was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. In the mid-1970s, she and Steve began their musical journey in the teenage R&B group Devoshun. The group was quickly highlighted by Billboard's Hot 100 for having one of the "Essential Disco Discs of 1976." 

Latin Rock & Dance Music

Continuing her rise, Lori became an MCA recording artist and landed a hot Dance single produced by Allen George. She also provided her distinctive vocals, production, and songwriting skills to the Fania International recording artist SEGUIDA, a notable New York Latin rock band. Throughout the 80s and 90s, she also cemented her reputation as a sought-after session vocalist for various radio jingles and projects.

The Virtual Band (VBNYC) & Brazilian Projects

Today, Lori and Steve act as the heartbeat of The Virtual Band NYC (VBNYC). The ensemble features a lineup of veteran musicians and singers from classic groups like GQ, The BB&Q Band, and Heatwave. 

In recent years, the husband-and-wife duo have heavily pivoted into Latin Jazz and Brazilian music. Some of her notable works include: 

• ESPIRITO: A Brazilian Music Fantasy (2024): A highly successful homage to Brazilian legends like Sergio Mendes, Flora Purim, and Antonio Carlos Jobim. The album spawned several top-ten singles on worldwide jazz and world music radio stations.
• ASCENSION: A Brazilian Music Fantasy Vol. 2 (2025): The acclaimed follow-up featuring Lori's lead vocals on smooth Urban Bossa and Samba Funk grooves, such as the single "Nobody But You".
