Loek van den Berg is a Netherlands based saxophonist/composer whose signature lyrical playing style and soulful approach, never fail to engage his listeners. He writes Storytelling, melancholic compositions for his Quintet, which released their debut album 'Wayfarer' in 2022. the album was very well received by the media and won in 2023 the Edison Jazz Award (Dutch Grammy) in the category Newcomer. In December 2022 the title track of the album won the award for best composition in the Dutch Jazz Competition, and after that Loek was announced by the NRC as the new jazztalent of 2023 in the column "Rising Stars". Earlier that year the Loek van den Berg Quintet won the 2nd prize in the Getxo International Jazz Competition, during their tour in Spain. On the 31st of January 2025 Loek will release his 2nd album "Seafarer"!
