Levi Dover
Levi plays in the Gentiane MG Trio, recipient of the 2018 Révelation Radio- Canada Award, and the Prix François-Marcaurelle de la GMMQ. They have toured across Canada and in Mexico. His reputation as a solid accompanist with an original voice on the double bass also led to him joining award- winning pianist Emie R Roussel in her trio for a tour in Japan in 2016. He has shared the stage with such musicians as Jean-Michel Pilc, Rafael Zaldivar, Rémi Bolduc, Jim Doxas, Kevin Dean, Joel Miller, Yannick Rieu and many others, both from Montreal and abroad.
He also leads the Levi Dover Sextet, which features original compositions which blur the lines between various influences, from post-bop jazz and progressive rock to impressionist classical music. In 2020, Levi was awarded the Prix François-Marcaurelle de la GMMQ, as well as the Conseil des Arts de Montréal Bourse Création Jazz for his work with this ensemble.
