Kevin Murray the Tunesmith

As a lifelong student and practitioner of music, Kevin should know better than to breenge into unknown musical territories. However a combination of curiosity and stupidity have helped him overcome any rationale or common sense he may once have had. His musical experiences range from classical to punk and most places inbetween . A habitual improviser and writer, he is generally considered not to be "good boyfriend material", despite a working sense of humour, which he feels should be apparent from both his guitar playing and his singing chops. He believes that while Jazz will probably not save the world, it will make the journey swing.

As well as a recording artist in his own right with five albums as a leader, he has recoded as a sideman on over 50 albums and worked for: The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, The Drake Music project, Dundee People's Orchestra, The TMSA, Dundee Rep, Perth Theatre, The Byre Theatre, Dundee University Big Band, the St Aidans project and has organised and conducted music workshops in Thailand, France, the Carribean, Spain and Scotland
